“Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” The Tiffany setting. Even the signature Tiffany blue box. Anything and everything connected with the world’s best-known luxury
jewelry designer has become iconic in the fashion world. Many upscale firms have tried to establish themselves as the ultimate arbiter of style. Tiffany & Co. is one of the very few who have actually done it.
There are several designers whose diamond pieces command higher prices than Tiffany; Cartier and Harry Winston immediately come to mind. Yet those who sell Tiffany diamond jewelry which they have inherited, or items they no longer want to keep, have found that the diamond rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings which come in those famed blue boxes often provide the greatest returns of any jewelry on the resale market.
There are two reasons Tiffany & Co. pieces retain so much of their original value. One is obvious: the world-renowned quality of all Tiffany jewelry. But in addition, no other designers have the recognition and brand equity of Tiffany. The company’s jewelry is worth more simply because of its name.
Dimorras specializes in the purchase of previously-owned Tiffany pieces, which we then sell to our exhaustive list of high-end clients. Because we handle so many exquisite Tiffany items, and because our appraisers are intimately familiar with the company’s extensive and expensive product lines (as well as Tiffany & Co. custom-designed pieces), we are uniquely positioned to properly value and then offer the highest prices available anywhere to those who sell Tiffany diamond jewelry.
We would be pleased to provide you with a preliminary estimate on the value of your Tiffany diamond pieces. Our online form is easy to fill out and completely confidential, and you can have your estimate almost immediately. Just click here to begin the process.
Many of the Tiffany engagement rings, tennis bracelets and other diamonds we purchase come from estate collections inherited by relatives, who prefer to sell the Tiffany diamond jewelry for a cash payout. Those items tend to be gently-used and in very good condition. However, we also buy many Tiffany pieces which have seen better days, usually sold by their original owners who have simply put the jewelry aside because of chips, cracks or other signs of wear.
We stand ready to purchase all Tiffany diamond jewelry, no matter its condition. And we are able to offer the highest cash amounts available from any other online buyer, pawnbroker or jeweler, since we have a ready market of upscale buyers for your Tiffany & Co. diamond engagement ring, earrings or custom-designed piece. Our experts have the knowledge which only comes with decades of experience with Tiffany jewelry – the type of experience that pawnshops and jewelry stores simply can’t offer – and can evaluate and appraise your piece with precision and care.
Our entire process takes just days, from the initial submission of your online form (with copies of any documentation you may have available, to help with the initial evaluation) to the final wire payment or deposit directly into your bank account. There’s no risk at all on your part, since we insure your valued Tiffany pieces throughout the transaction, and even pay the shipping fees (both ways, if necessary).
We’re proud of our reputation, not just because we’re known for paying the highest prices for pre-owned Tiffany jewelry, but because we’re known as being one of the world’s most trustworthy and honest dealers in luxury goods. We look forward to receiving your online request for an evaluation, and to working with you.
How did a New York firm with humble beginnings as an 1830s retailer of stationery and costume jewelry (first known as Tiffany & Young, then as Tiffany, Young & Ellis) become the world’s foremost brand name in high-end diamond jewelry and other luxury goods? Four words: foresight, opportunism, quality and innovation.
The company spent its first ten years moving away from paste jewelry and introducing the “real thing,” as partner J. L. Ellis supplied the capital which allowed co-partner John Young to establish a presence in Paris (foresight) – and to purchase some of the French crown jewels (and a jeweled corset once the property of Marie Antoinette) when the monarchy fell. Charles Tiffany then teamed up with master showman P.T. Barnum (opportunism) to promote displays of the jewels, bringing the Tiffany name to the public-at-large. During this time, Tiffany also became one of the first firms in the world to produce a mail-order catalog (innovation)
Tiffany, Young & Ellis continued to expand its jewelry lines while also introducing sterling silverware to America (foresight and innovation) and quickly becoming the nation’s premier producer of high-end silver products (quality). At the same time, Charles Tiffany was buying out his partners to create the brand Tiffany & Co. while producing and selling large amounts of weaponry to the Union Army during the Civil War, again building enormous brand awareness (opportunism).
After the war, the company won prestigious honors for both its silverware and jewelry at European expositions (quality) and the monumental growth of Tiffany followed quickly. Most of Europe’s rulers began commissioning jewelry and silver from Tiffany & Co. during the late 19th century; in the meantime, the growing number of wealthy Americans found that Tiffany products were not only high-quality, but impressive status symbols as well.
Charles Tiffany died in 1902, but the hallmarks of the company remained. Its expansion, first to other European markets and eventually to other continents, maintained Tiffany & Co.’s dominance in a growing worldwide economy; its moves to assert control over diamond supplies and the manufacturing process assured its survival during the Depression and continued growth since then (foresight). Its creation of everything from the ubiquitous Tiffany diamond setting to new and varied product lines, along with successful forays into mass marketing unheard of for an upscale jeweler, increased its dominance (innovation).
The company worked with other large firms and agencies to create highly public designs such as the logo for the New York Yankees, a revised U.S. Medal of Honor, and a china service for the Johnson White House; it also made sure that prized possessions like the 128.5-carat Tiffany Diamond were kept in the public eye (opportunism).
And most importantly, the quality of Tiffany jewelry and other products remained extremely high.
An iconic brand, meticulously crafted products, and nearly-flawless marketing and innovation rarely seen in the industry have all ensured Tiffany & Co.’s standing as the premier luxury jewelry brand name throughout the world. As a result, resale value for Tiffany pieces continues to well outpace the market despite greatly-increased competition.
We would welcome the opportunity to show you how that resale value benefits those who wish to sell Tiffany diamond jewelry. Please be in touch via our online form to request a preliminary evaluation of your Tiffany & Co. pieces, and discover the financial benefits of working with Dimorras.
